For those who are new the altcoin and virtual currency game, DASH, is actually a coin that has been rebranded from the roots of Darkcoin.  While we are not certain of the name change, DASH was able to ride the wave and stay above the tumbles that most of the other coins experienced during Bitcoin’s temporary slide.  So today we are going to look a little closer at DASH, and how it may be a coin to keep an eye on in the next coming months.

DASH is a mineable virtual currency and offers many of the similar features and services as other altcoins, including peer to peer transactions, and a downloadable wallet.

If you don’t want to run the wallet on your own machine, you can just store it in one of your Exchange WAllets since DASH is traded across a wide variety of exchanges.  DASH is one of the more popularly traded Altcoins among the Virtual Currencies, and is listed on a large list of exchanges:

As you can see the price of DASH varies between the different exchanges depending on trading supply and demand, as well as current volume, and other metrics such as day-trading hours vs. night-time trading hours when some parts of the world traders may be off-duty and partying, sleeping, or just taking a break from the markets to enjoy some lifestyle moments.

AS you can see the spread on the coins is quite vast, and may be one reason why traders engage in the day trading of DASH.

IS DASH the be-all, end-all, of the Altcoins?   This is highly unlikely, but it is a strong Altcoin, with a good support system, and did manage to survive the day-trade selloff, and is also one of the most expensive Altcoins, with its CMP a whole $1 more that LTC (Litecoin), which is one of the favorite pairings of BTC.  However, we will keep an eye on DASH Coin as it continues to fluctuate around the $4 point, or .01 BTC, and in the meantime, take a look at some of their community events, or get in and buy some on one of your favorite exchanges.
